Wine has been made in Mudgee for 150 years. The winemakers are proud of their distinctive wines. The Mudgee Wine Festival, celebrated each year in September, is the premier event in the district with many varied activities. Outdoor eating in the lovely spring sunshine is a feature of the festival as are arts and craft exhibitions, concerts, bush dances, flea markets, a wine show, displays and loads of music of all sorts.

Mudgee is located approximately 1 hour north of Lithgow.
