After reading reviews from the previous year we were a bit tentative. Pleased to say the organisers took action on those comments and in all there were good amenities and the location was convenient to the shows. the lighting of the walkway at night was sufficient to feel secure. Only constructive comment is that the security need to be attentive to people setting up in correct areas. Although it didn't impact on us it appeared that some unpowered tents were set up on larger powered sites. It appeared some late arrivals had issues with having to be located.

security was lacklustre ... an extended incident on the saturday night with a group of festival patrons playing loud music, singing and sounding car horns till 5am with no intervention from on-site security guards was disappointing to say the least !

Re Camping at Windsor Blues Festival. The site consisted of a footy field converted into a camp ground for $25 Per person per night. This makes it one of the most expensive camp sites in Australia without the normal facilities. The mens facilities consisted of 4 showers 2 toilets and 1 twin urinal. The women had 2 demountables for toilets and showers. On the monday morning these were locked for removal by 8am forcing the women to use the already inadequate mens facilities. Add to this the noisy generators placed on site which ran all night interrupting sleep. So the site was flat and within walking distance but the facilities were inadequate, shut down prematurely, the generators were noisy and all this for an outrageous price on a per person basis. Not good enough

My sister and I had a fabulous time at the Blues Festival. The camp ground was cool, the venues offered an amazing choice of excellent music and we met heaps of nice people. Look forward to next year!

Ridiculously Over priced +++++ and site under sized, this is not what was advertised!!!!! in comparison to the Kempsey Country Festival, (the same week) they charged only $20 per site per night, with car space included and no security patrol telling them what they could drink in the privacy of their own tent! At Christmas by the north coast in a big 4 carvan park i wil be only paying $60 per night for 2 people, power and adequate amneities and privacy. The Generator noise, only place 3meters from my tent- unbelievable and unacceptable..noise pollution, couldn't sleep !!! the festival was brilliant, but I would need to reconsider the changes made for camping. Definately no value in paying extra for power.

I thought the sites were terrific. Not too much distance to venues. Good security. What happened to lights at night on sat night was much darker when walking back to my van? Otherwise very successful

For a temporary site, it was satisfactory. The size of the sites were a bit small. The security was great. People were very well behaved.

i've camped at byron bay festival and i would have to say that the promoters of windsor blues did it better, the amenities were much better, they organised people to come every morning with huge bbq's and cook bacon, egg and sausage rolls at 7.30am, we had heaps of security which was absolutely fantastic being two female campers, the whole area was very well lit at night, i personally can't fault anything about the festival and the camping, i had a ball!!! i will definately book again for next year. don't tell too many people as it was great not being too crowded.

Womens demountable toilets and showers were not cleaned from Thursday until late Sunday in spite of requests to the organisers to get something done- bins overflowing, dirty sinks, running out of toilet paper. Finally cleaned Sunday night - so they could pack them up on Monday morning before we had a chance to use them ! We had to use the mens facilities, lots of unhappy women considering we didn't have to leave till 11am. Only 2 garbage bins for all the campers (140?), bins overflowing and rubbish had to be stacked around them Security casual - no one checking to see if people were entitled to be there, security guard caught asleep on Friday night (he only woke up after 2 gates had been opened and 2 cars let in).Glad the police were doing patrols ! Organiser told me that the site was a 5-7 minute walk -yeah, if you were an Olympic race walker. A good 15 minutes for the reasonably fit. Not great value -we used to complain about the cost of camping at Narooma, $54 for a couple on an unpowered site on the waterfront 2 minutes walk to the festival -$50 a couple for this site with a long hike to the festival not good. Oh and Ron the shuttle bus driver was hitting on the singe women

Great location - security guards were helpful and friendly. Tents were a bit squished together but no real dramas there Things for next time: Directions to the campsite on the festival website didn't exist so campsite was hard to find. No where to get fresh water! (unless you could go into the mens toilet for the tap there) packing up the ladies facilities early monday morning so we had to go to the mens for showers etc was a bit average - it was packed up and gone before we were due to leave. Overall - it was good value for money and I would do it again.

Great weekend at the Blues Festival. Courtesy bus to and from the festival was awesome. Ron rocks. Security all weekend was brilliant, very friendly and efficient. No noise late at night. Main downfall there were no taps for washing up, no BBQs, no common kitchen. Actually no facilities except showers and toilets. It is really like a fenced off section of the football field.

The Sydney blues fest camp city was good value for money, however I would like to make some suggestions for next year: 1 Please put lights on the oval behind the camping site, so we can see where we are going when walking back from the festival late at night. 2 Please don't close the womens facilities on Monday morning, until people have left. 3 A chair or similar to sit clothes etc on in the showers would be helpful. Thanks!

1) Garbage bins not emptied the entire weekend 2) No running water (faucet for filling kettles etc 3) No pathway from tent city to amenities block (ie people had to cut through others camp area to get through. 4) Shower and toilets not maintained, no toilet paper at one point Not worth the 25.00 per person at all. Good things Breakfasts, shuttle buses and location and lighting on pathway from venues to tent city.

Security was good. Gave peace of mind with vehicles and camp in remote exposed location. Facilities were fairly basic, hot water ran out in ladies, lack of privacy in mens and ladies a problem. Biggest gripe was that facilities were supposed to be cleaned only once a day at lunch. Definitely needs to be cleaned first thing in morning as well. Bus service was good and friendly, security friendly, had a great time at festival. Will definitely be back with other friends next year.

A few Issues; The powered sites were not big enough for Vans and had no easy access, refer to caravan park layouts for better design, this would mean expanding the size of the camping area, other than for extra fencing and longer cables, I dont see this would be an issue as there was plenty more space available around the park. Could the generators be located a little further away or could permanent mains power of sufficient capacity be installed, thus not requiring generators. Alternativly dont offer powered sites at all. My van has gas for fridge and cooking along with battery for light, however portable generators would have to be dis-allowed as some people would try to bring them. By not offering powered sites, this could significantly reduce the cost (another issue) for camping there. Just have two types of sites (both un-powered) camping sites and larger van sites. If people want fully powered sites, they will go to a proper caravan park and just drive or taxi to the concert, maybe have a buses that picks up at all caravan parks within a 5km radius and from Richmond town centre etc.

There were no signs around the town to direct you to the camping park. Apparently the location had been changed and the directions downloaded when booking did not apply. We did not have any heavy rain so were not able to judge how the site would have coped in that circumstance. Expecting people to park campvans and go to festival office before going to the campsite is not practical. There was no hot water for the shower after the music finished on Sat. night.

Volunteers and security were not informed very well, on arrival we supposed to go to main ticket office to get camping wristband to enter campground but we did not find this out until challenged on second day by a more alert guard. Possibly an instruction sheet could be given to campground staff. Large power generator, which ran all night, was placed only about two metres from campground fence. There was plenty of space to place it five or so metres towards creek, which would have made a big difference to the sound level. The sites were very squashed so would have been good if each site was a little bigger. There appeared to be plenty of space, toward the east, beyond the fence to do this. I would like to suggest a cheaper rate for the Thursday and Sunday nights as personally we could not afford to stay those extra nights even though it would have been good for us to do so. I spoke to a couple of others who said the same plus overall you would increase campground income. Men's showers were not great as lacked anywhere to put clothes, soap etc. Only place was top of wall, which was very high so would not work for children or small men. This was our first time at the B & R festival. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed our camping. It was a friendly atmosphere, an opportunity to meet many and varied people. Congratulations to all those involved, special mention to LollyShop Gary for his assistance. Security and lighting showed a lot of foresight and consideration as there were single women travelling alone. Amenities were adequate. The camping area was marked out with sites, we considered them to be very small. We arrived on Thursday afternoon and had pick of the sites however if we had arrived later we would have struggled to manouvre ourselves in.(with a camper trailer ) Solution:An area for tents and another area for campers/caravans(with larger sites) could work well. Unfortunatly we had to return home on the Sunday, sadly bacause the program was fantastic on Sunday evening. I am assuming a lot of people, like us had to return to work and also missed out. Solution: Run the festival Fri,Sat, Sun morning OR Sat, Sun, Monday morning. Means you would only have to have one day off work. Again a big congratulations to all.
